Save On Commission is Australia’s original online no commission real estate agency and has been offering personal agency service since 2008, selling over $250,000,000 in property sales and saving vendors over $7,250,000 on commission.

They were the first to combine a traditional agency service with online marketing efficiencies and provide Australian sellers with a fixed fee, no commission option. 

In 2019 they were joined by Short Real Estate who have been providing a traditional family agency service for more than 70 years.

The Short family started in real estate when John Short opened an office in Benalla, Victoria in 1949. That office and a second office in Wangaratta  became part of the Dalgety expansion in the early 60s.

John’s sons David, Roger and Trevor joined him when he opened an office in Rosebud in 1969 and shortly afterwards expanded to Rye, Blairgowrie and Dromana.

In the 80's Short Real Estate opened offices in Palm Beach, Miami. Surfers Paradise and Southport, Queensland.

In the early 90's, as the property market retreated, the offices were consolidated with Roger retaining the Rye office, David the Rosebud office and Trevor the Miami office. Twenty-five years later, in 2015, the last of these offices was sold.

In 2016, Trevor and his son David developed a new model of agency with savings in overhead expenses that were passed on to home sellers by way of a fair fixed fee for services rendered.

In 2019 when Short Real Estate combined their traditional agency service with Save On Commission Trevor’s daughter Christine and son Michael joined the business.

Today the Short family continues to offer their traditional real estate service  combined with Save On Commission’s fair fixed fee saving vendors thousands of dollars on commission.
